Understanding Insurance & Fees
We know that unexpected costs can be frustrating, especially when it comes to healthcare and insurance. To help you avoid surprises, we've provided clear details on our fees, cancellation and no-show policies, and a guide to help you confirm your insurance benefits. For new clients, we recommend calling your insurance provider to verify your mental health benefits before starting services. This can help ensure a smooth experience from the very beginning.

In-Network Insurance
We are In Network with BCBS PPO. Please note that Tapiz does not verify insurance benefits directly. We ask clients to call their insurance to understand their coverage. Following is a guide to help you verify your benefits.
Call Your Insurance Provider: Use the number on the back of your insurance card.
Confirm Our In-Network Status: Let the representative know that you’re verifying Tapiz Mental Health Services as in-network provider. (Our NPI # is 1811416654)
Check Mental Health Coverage Details: Ask if your plan covers mental health services along with your medical benefits. Some plans require pre-authorization or may subcontract mental health services (known as a "carve-out") to a separate company. Be sure to clarify these details, as pre-authorization requirements typically can’t be backdated.
Verify Coverage for Common Service Codes: Ask if your plan covers the following standard billing codes: 90791, 90837, 90847, 90846, 90832, and 90834. Confirm that coverage is available for both in-person and virtual sessions.
Check for Deductible: Ask if there’s a deductible to meet before insurance begins covering services. If so, find out if you’ve met it and, once met, what your cost will be.
Check for Copay: Verify if there’s a copay and whether it applies to both in-person and virtual sessions.
Out-of-Network Benefits
If Tapiz Mental Health Services is not in-network with your insurance, here are the steps you can take to seek reimbursement:
Call to Inquire About Out-of-Network Benefits: Use the number on your insurance card to contact your provider. Ask about your out-of-network mental health benefits and the process for submitting claims for reimbursement.
Obtain a Superbill for Reimbursement: Tapiz will gladly provide you with a monthly superbill, which is a receipt for services paid. Many clients choose to submit superbills to their insurance monthly for reimbursement.
Tapiz Does Not Submit Out-of-Network Claims: While we provide superbills. Tapiz Mental Health Services does not submit claims directly to out-of-network providers.
Cancellation and No-Show Fees
Your appointment time is set aside just for you. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give at least 48 hours’ notice. This allows us to offer the spot to someone else who may be waiting for an appointment. Appointment canceled with less than 48 hours’ notice or missed without notice will be charged the full session fee. Please not that insurance does not cover these fees.
Payment
Payment is due in full before each session to reserve your appointment time and ensure a smooth experience.
